Victor Bayda

Victor Bayda is a Russian linguist. Bayda has lectured in Irish for 15 years, and is proficient in nine languages, including Welsh, Scots Gallic, and Irish.[1] In addition to studying Irish at Trinity College in Dublin, he spent periods in the Connemara Gaeltacht practicing his Irish language skills.[2] He was the head of the Department of Germanic and Celtic Philology at Lomonosov Moscow State University.[3] In 2019, Bayda was appointed as an Irish language officer in the Kerry Gaeltacht, with the responsibility to create and implement a plan to revive the Irish language in Kerry.[4]
