The Romancing Star II

The Romancing Star II is a 1988 Hong Kong romantic comedy film written and directed by Wong Jing and starring Andy Lau, Eric Tsang, Natalis Chan and Stanley Fung. Chow Yun-fat, the star of the film's precedent The Romancing Star, makes a brief cameo in the first scene. The film was later followed by The Romancing Star III released in the following year.

As a low-ranking director in Channel 9, Lau Pei's (Andy Lau) uncle, Ken Lau (Stanley Fung) owns a motor company with two employees Mocking Face (Eric Tsang) and Traffic Light (Natalis Chan), who have been yearning very much to become TV actors. With his wit and inborn gag talent, Pei turns the station's programmes tremendously vivid and colorful, bringing more and more audience turning to Channel 9. However this makes the boss of Channel 8 very angry, he orders to get back the audience by hooks or by crooks.
