David William

David William (born June 24, 1926 in London, England) is a British/Canadian actor and director.

He was Artistic Director at the New Shakespeare Company at the Open Air Theatre in London, England from 1962 to 1968, and Artistic Director of the Stratford Festival in Stratford, Ontario from 1990 to 1993.[1][2]. During his tenure at Stratford, the Festival produced works by Canadian playwrights Elliott Hayes, Sharon Pollock, Michel Tremblay, and John Murrell. He is well-known primarily for his acting in Macbeth in which he played Macbeth.[citation needed] David William has died, he suffered a fall on Tuesday July 27th 2010 and sustained a severe brain hemorrhage.
