The Electronic Entertainment Expo 2011, commonly known as E3 2011, is the upcoming 17th Electronic Entertainment Expo held. The event will take place on June 7 - 9, 2011 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. E3 is an annual trade show for the computer and video games industry presented by the Entertainment Software Association (ESA). E3 is used by many video game developers to present their upcoming games and game-related hardware. E3 2011 will be broadcast on G4.[1]

Game debuts

Several games are expected to unveil first details at the event. These include:

Developed by IO Interactive and published by Square Enix, the game is the fifth in the Hitman series.[3]
Developed and published by Namco Bandai, it is the sixth game in the Soul series.[4]
Developed by Yuke's & published by THQ, this game will be the third game in the UFC Undisputed series.

Press conferences

Microsoft's press conference will take place on June 6, 2011 at 9am PST, like Sony's event it will take place the day before E3. The event will focus on the Xbox 360 as Microsoft calls it the "Xbox 360 E311 Media Briefing" event.[5] Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and possibly another Call of Duty title are expected to be shown during Microsoft's press conference. [6]

Sony's press conference will take place on June 6, 2011 at 5pm PST, the day before E3 officially begins. The press conference is widely expected to focus on Sony's upcoming Next Generation Portable device as well as their PlayStation 3 console.[7]

Nintendo's press conference will take place on June 7, 2011 at 9am PST at the Nokia Theatre.[8] Nintendo is widely expected to officially unveil its next home game console, which is expected to be released in 2012.[9] The console will also be playable to attendees of the event.[10]

Konami will have its own pre-E3 event on June 2, 2011 prior to the beginning of E3 to showcase its games. The event will include live events in a number of cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco, Toronto, São Paulo, and Mexico City.[11]
