Cleanup per WP:NLT - blatant Chilling effect (law) intent totally unencylopedic. Company has a history of such threats. "there appears to be an aggressive effort by the company to silence critics" - http://archive.is/msEWw (and BS at the end.)

:Larger range than a knife or baton. Less range than a real gun. Danger to the user, or danger to the 'target' ? What is the controversy ? --195.137.93.171 (talk) 19:05, 19 September 2013 (UTC)
:Ah, perhaps you are considering that the victim is a member of the public using the taser for self-defense ? That begins to make sense ! --195.137.93.171 (talk) 19:43, 19 September 2013 (UTC)

This article needs more watchlisting for POV
I have just removed a completely empty section header, which was uncited, unreferenced and functioned only as a wikilink to ventricular fibrillation, apparently for purposes of WP:POV. I also renamed the "Torture" section heading to "Use in torture", again apparently so titled in an effort to push a WP:POV that Tasers are inherently devices of torture.

I am an uninvolved party in this article, but I aggressively remove blatant POV violations as I see them. This article badly needs more watchlisting, particularly because these POV violations pertain to an active US company, in regard to which Wikipedia has a greater obligation under US law to avoid and aggressively remove potentially libelous statements to the best extent of it's abilities. It does not rise to the level of, say, biographies of living persons, but it is real nonetheless, and failure to care may expose us to unnecessary legal risk. Other companies with similarly shitty articles have threatened it before, and they will threaten it again. Let me be crystal clear: I don't care one bit what your opinions on electroshock weapons or appropriate use of police force or the Taser itself is. I have my own, and they may surprise you. But this is not up for debate, and Wikipedia is not an ideological battleground. I have watchlisted this article and further blatant POV attempts will be responded to with cursory template warnings, followed by a likely block from editing. Keep it verifiable and everything will be fine. Vintovka Dragunova (talk) 05:44, 18 June 2014 (UTC)
