Lotus Casino, sometimes called Lotus Hotel and Casino, is a location featured in Percy Jackson and the Olympians. It is a casino based on Las Vegas, Nevada that, as its name implies, has a habit of keeping people longer than intended.
Background[]
The Lotus Casino is an entertainment place that was created by the Lotus-Eaters. Anyone who enters the facility is immediately enticed by the things the place has to offer. While consuming the food, as it is laced with lotus fruit, causes one to lose their need for wanting to leave, the place also pumps lotus into the air to ensure people stay. There seems to be something for everyone to keep people trapped in the casino as it is so effective that people can remain and not age, staying for years without any clue as to what is happening outside the casino.

Trivia[]
- The Lotus Casino is an obvious nod to the The Odyssey and the story of the islanders who eat the fruit of the Lotus Tree. Doing so caused those to never wanting to leave the island and Odysseus had to drag his men off the island.
- In the book, Percy and his friends go in without realizing that the place altered their perception of time. In the series, they go in knowing full well the dangers of the place and race against time to find Hermes.
- One aspect that was removed from the series were the Lotus Cash Cards, gold cards that contained an infinite amount of money in them and could be used to access all of the casino's services. When Percy and his friends escape, they take the cards with them and use them to travel the rest of the way to Los Angeles. They were most likely removed due to the series altering the trio's mode of transport, rendering them unnecessary.
