"Balls!" is the seventeenth episode of the first season of Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero. It premiered on April 6, 2015.

Synopsis[]

The team zaps into a world where they are sports balls and must teach the last herd of ball species to defend themselves against evil sports equipment hunters.

Plot[]

The episode starts at Middleburg Central High School, where a student election is taking place. Penn explains why he should be elected as class president, saying he and his friends have an important secret job, refering to his part-time hero job, and that he can't even tell one thing about it, so he tells the students to blindly vote for him and trust him that he will make good decisions. However, at The Odyssey, he sees that the only got 2 votes while his opponent got 347 votes. He tells his friends he voted for himself, so he asks them which one of them voted. Both say they voted, but his opponent appears, saying he voted for him and that is wrong to vote for yourself, with Boone and Sashi both praising him. They enter the theatre as Penn asks Phyllis if he is a good leader, which she tells him it was "pretty not great, but better than dead person" before they get zapped.

Now zapped in, Boone, being a football, notices that his feet are missing as he screams in confusion, but Sashi, being a soccer ball, tells him to calm down as they don't have feet too, as they are balls. Penn, being a tennis ball, is about to say he is having something, but Sashi quickly tells him not to say "ball", but he tells her he was having a baby. After some awkward confusion, Penn tells her to tell the mission as Boone tries to bounce, but ends up bouncing away from them. Sashi then tells the mission: evil sports equipment hunters have hunting balls for sports and now only a herd of balls are left, so the heroes have to teach them to protect themselves from the hunters, so they don't become extinct. Penn notices Boone spinning uncontrollably before Sashi knocks him out with enough force to send him flying.

The sports equipment, with Rippen being a tennis racket and Larry being ping pong paddle, mount on a golf cart as Rippen drives it, but Larry distracts the equipment by singing a song, encouraging them to sing along with him. The heroes then encounter various balls chilling out, such as volleyballs doing synchronized swimming and baseballs launching themselves out of a pitching machine for fun. The heroes approach them as Penn tells them the sports equipment are coming to wipe them out and that they are here to teach them how to defend themselves, with Boone offering a variety of classes such as "bite like you mean it" and "tripping the art of being under-foot". Eight Ball appears and tells the balls that if Penn teaches them, they can live in peace and forget about the situation, but, however, Bowling Ball appears and stops him, saying a ball will get hurt if they try to do so before she descends down the stairs. She approaches the heroes as she explains that, in the past, she used to have a friend called Beach Ball Grandpappy, but he was deflated by one of the sports equipment, telling the balls to roll away, scattering instead of fighting back. Bowling Ball tells the heroes if they have seen someone they care about being deflated in front of their eyes, which Penn says he can't say that he have. She then tells the balls to come back home as she and Eight Ball roll away. Penn tells his friends to forget them and fight the sports equipment on their own, but Sashi tells him that is not their mission, saying they have to teach the balls, but Penn tells her they won't listen to them.

A thunderstorm comes as the balls roll away in fear, scattering as Penn complains about the balls scattering from their problems. Boone suggests Penn they should scatter in a baseball glove-shaped shelter nearby, but Penn insists that they should stay, but a lightning strikes electrocutes Penn, leading him to scatter in the shelter. Rippen sees the heroes unprepared, so he commands the sports equipment to go to the golf cart, but the cart, driven by Larry, gets stuck in the mud. Larry presses the pedal, spinning the wheels and, therefore, causing the mud to launch at Rippen, covering him in mud, before Larry frees the golf cart froom the mud, but, unluckily, the golf cart gets trapped in another mud puddle. At the shelter, Penn's parents are calling Penn via the MUHU, saying how he still looks handsome as a tennis ball, embarrassing Penn. His dad then tells Sashi to tell Penn he looks good, embrrassing Penn even more. Sashi tells him he is round while Boone tells he is amazing as he smells Penn. His dad tells him that, for the balls to believe in him, he has to first inspire the balls to believe in themselves. The dad accidentally cuts the wrong wire, leading the countdown of the bomb in the background to count down faster, forcing the parents to escape as he exclaims Penn to inspire the balls as explosions occur in the background, ending the call. Penn tells his friends he needs to find a way to prove himself to the balls before Ping Pong Ball talks to them. However, the water dam breaks, causing the water to pour down and flood the ground, bringing Ping Pong Ball in. The other balls are sheltered as they see Ping Pong Ball in the flood, so Eight Ball commands the balls to save him, but they don't want to, so Eight Ball goes to save Ping Pong Ball himself. He knocks Ping Pong Ball out of the flood, leading himself trapped in the flood. Penn sees a bunch of volleyball nets in a tree, giving him an idea. Eight Ball is about to descend down a waterfall, but Penn and his friends use one of the volleyball nets to save him, but, however, Penn falls down the flood along with Eight Ball. Boone and Sashi grab the net with their mouths to prevent the two from falling. The balls see the situation, so they all use their mouths to grab the volleyball net to bring the two back to land.

Penn then tells the balls that a group of sports equipment is coming to hunt them down, inspiring the balls. However, Bowling Ball appears and tells him she doesn't want to fight because Beach Ball Grandpappy told her to roll away and leaves. Eight Ball doesn't want her to leave, but she tells him she doesn't want to be part of the battle and leaves while crying, knocking bowling pins in her way. Rippen and his team goes in search of the balls as Penn appears and rolls away, leading the sports equipment to chase him, but a horde of marble balls roll in and trip the sports equipment. A horde of balls then appear and attack the sports equipment, leading the sports equipment to give up and go away in their golf cart. Rippen gets surrounded by the balls, so he decides to grab Eight Ball, telling them he will lift him to a tree where he will be eaten by a club condor. Thankfully, Bowling Ball appears rolling down behind Rippen, going through his face and ripping it. Eight Ball tells her he though he will never see her again as she tells him to forgive her and forget about. The balls then laugh and so do the heroes, but the heroes stop laughing as they see Bowling Ball and Eight Ball still laughing, ending the episode.
