Description
English: Louis Hector Leroux, Nouvelles de dehors (News from the Outside), 1891, oil on canvas, 0.53; x 0.72 meters, signed lower right on the baseboard: Hector Leroux; Paris Salon of 1891, no.1042; location: Grand Chancellery of the Legion of Honour, Paris. This painting is related to an episode in the life of the Vestal virgins, as indicated by the inscription and medallion of Vesta on the altar on the right.
