Green hydrogen - a critical piece of the puzzle in the energy transition! Green hydrogen is a clean energy produced by splitting water molecules through an electrochemical procedure called electrolysis, using renewable electricity. We offer a wide range of green hydrogen solutions, spanning grid and plant infrastructure, high-efficiency motors for pumps and pipelines, instrumentation, leak detection systems, fuel cells and more. One such solution - ABB Ability™ OPTIMAX® system streamlines the entire production process, reducing costs by up to 20%. By integrating renewable energy sources and optimizing energy flow, we ensure smoother operations and less downtime. Our partnership with KEPCO enhances South Korea’s renewable energy infrastructure! We are proud to collaborate with Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) to deliver South Korea’s first high-inertia flywheel synchronous condensers. This technology is crucial for maintaining grid stability as the country expands its renewable energy capacity. Renewable energy sources like wind and solar lack the spinning inertia of traditional power plants, leading to potential grid instability. Our synchronous condensers restore this critical inertia, ensuring a stable and reliable energy supply. Located 240 kilometers south of the Korean peninsula, Jeju Island is home to 670,000 residents and attracts over 15 million tourists annually. Our technology will play a vital role in supporting the island’s ambitious clean energy goals, ensuring a sustainable and resilient energy future.
