Tales of musicians who sold their soul for fame are common enough, Crossroads, Trick or Treat, Dark Roads 79 and The 27 Club are just a few examples. The Devil Went Down to Islington is a little different, however. It tells the tale of a music teacher who makes a Faustian bargain while drunk, only to panic when he realizes what he’s done.
It actually opens like a bizarre action film with Father Crowley using switchblade crosses to fight a pair of masked figures who are attacking a panicked man. He defeats them, but in the end Satan claims another soul.
John Robertson Has had a morning from hell, and he hasn’t even sold his soul yet. He fails to save his cat from the garbage truck, then an Ofsted inspector shows up,...

Because February is mercilessly short March will be here before you know it. No time like the present to bone up on what's coming to Horror Channel next month. Horror Channel will host what it's calling Killer Thriller Week staring on the third weekend of the month with back to back nights of premieres of Paradise Cove and Jon Watts' excellent feature film debut, Cop Car. That near little movie starring Kevin Bacon, before he all up and exploded onto the superhero scene, making Sony and Marvel a gazillion dollars. Other previous standouts include Await Further Instructions, A Good Woman is Hard to Find and horror comedy Cooties. Everything you need to know about the month of March on Horror Channel follows below. ...

If you’ve ever read any of my reviews around December, then you will probably know that I love Christmas movies. So when they mix perfectly together with the horror genre I am even happier.
That said, unfortunately, there’s not a whole lot of Christmas horror released each year, and even less, Good Christmas horror. In recent years, Better Watch Out, Await Further Instructions, Hosts, Black Christmas, I Trapped The Devil and The Lodge have all been largely entertaining and of good quality. Norwegian movie Jule Blood (Christmas Blood) covers a Christmas murderer who has escaped jail and back on the loose for that special day.
When it focuses on the killer Santa Claus, Jule Blood is at its best. Not unlike many slasher movies, the deaths don’t come thick and fast until...

Ooh, it’s a great week for horror fans, as this Tuesday’s Blu-ray and DVD releases are a stellar bunch of films that will make for great additions to your personal collection of movies to enjoy from the comfort of your own home. Because it is the holiday season, I’m stoked to see Scream Factory show a little love to Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2 with their Collector’s Edition Blu that hits shelves tomorrow, and for those of you who enjoy your horror movies with a side of sleaze, William Lustig’s Maniac has been given the 4K treatment by Blue Underground (and the film has never looked better).

In the new holiday horror movie Await Further Instructions, Christmas Day takes a deadly turn for one dysfunctional family when they find themselves trapped inside their home, with their only link to the outside world being the mysterious—potentially malevolent—messages on their TV screen. Following its time on the festival circuit, Await Further Instructions is coming to Blu-ray and DVD this December from Dark Sky Films, just in time to be added to stockings "hung by the chimney with care."
"It's Christmas Day and the Milgram family wake to find a mysterious black substance surrounding their house. Something monumental is clearly happening right outside their door, but what exactly - an industrial accident, a terrorist attack, nuclear war? Descending into terrified arguments, they turn on the television, desperate for any information. On screen a message glows ominously: 'Stay Indoors and Await Further Instructions'. As the television exerts an ever more sinister grip,...

"Someone's locked us in." Dark Sky Films has debuted an official trailer for a freaky new sci-fi horror-thriller titled Await Further Instructions, made by filmmaker Johnny Kevorkian. The film's plot is about an argumentative family that gets together on Christmas. When they wake up on Christmas Day, they discover their house is covered with black material, and when they turn on the TV it says: "Stay Indoors and Await Further Instructions." That's a wicked cool idea for a horror film, something out of "Black Mirror" or "The Twilight Zone". Alas, this doesn't look as good as I'd hoped, a bit too weird, but I'm still very curious about it. The film's cast includes David Bradley, Abigail Cruttenden, Holly Weston, Sam Gittins, Grant Masters, Neerja Naik, and Kris Saddler. This is definitely worth a look, for that concept alone. Tagline: "Contain. Corrupt. Control." Dark Sky Films has debuted the first trailer for Johnny Kevorkian's Await Further Instructions. Written by Gavin Williams, events take place on Christmas Day. The Milgrams are trapped in a family home as strange experiments are forced upon them. Await Further Instructions stars: David Bradley ("Dr. Who") Sam Gittins, Neerja Naik and Grant Masters. This sci-fi and horror title will debut in early October. A preview of Await Further Instructions' impending release are hosted here. For more on the story, a mysterious substance has surrounded the Milgram house. Inside, there is only panic. But, what is happening outside? Their television provides little information. And, this idiot box demands stranger and stranger actions. Dark Sky Films will show the film in a few theatres and on Digital platforms. A theatre listing is on the way. However, Await Further Instructions will be available on October 5th.
