Actor Stuart Townsend (Queen of the Damned) will not be joining Marvel’s upcoming Thor movie and the reason has nothing to do with his acting ability.
Townsend was dismissed from the anticipated graphic-novel project after arriving an astounding six hours late for a screen test. Joshua Dallas (The Decent: Part 2, The Boxer), will replace Townsend in the role of Asgardian warrior Fandral.
This isn’t the first time Townsend has had pre-production problems. The actor was dismissed from the cast of Peter Jackson’s Lord of The Rings trilogy and replaced by Viggo Mortensen before filming began in 1999.
Thor will be directed by Kenneth Branagh and stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman and Anthony Hopkins.
Shooting for the film was supposed to kick off today.

Catherine McCormack and Stacy Keach are set to co-star opposite Holt McCallany on FX's upcoming drama series "Lights Out."
"Lights Out," from Fox TV Studios and FX Prods., centers on Patrick "Lights" Leary (McCallany), an aging former heavyweight boxing champion who struggles to support his wife (McCormack), a pediatric orthopedic surgeon, and three daughters after his fighting days are over.
Diagnosed with a neurological disorder called pugilistic dementia, he takes a job as a legbreaker, collecting on unpaid gambling debts.
Keach will play Leary's father and former trainer, a widower who still runs a gym.
Warren Leight serves as showrunner on "Lights," which was created by Justin Zackham. The two are executive producing with Phillip Noyce and Ross Fineman.
"Lights" was picked up to series in September, after Light was brought in to tweak the original pilot, directed by Clark Johnson, and pen two more scripts with Zackham.

The first thing that attracted me to Brad Watson's feature debut, Beacon77, was the intriguing poster which hints at something intense and cosmic going down in a London housing block. Then I noticed that the credits list Tim Wooster as the project's cinematographer.
Dp's are rarely household names so you may have never heard of Wooster, but he's long been one of the best eyes in the business having worked second unit on Babylon A.D., Wanted and most recently two films I'm highly anticipating, Michael Basset's Solomon Kane and Stuart Hazeldine's dystopian thriller Exam.
Synopsis:
Two young women arrive at a curious penthouse apartment, led by one’s crush on her tutor. However, her love interest doesn’t live alone. He’s part of a trio of computer hackers about to embark on the ultimate job on the world’s most mysterious mainframe. Whilst doing so, they unlock more...
