Wilmore is an Emmy winner whose credits include “The Laundromat,” and he also served as the host of Comedy Central’s “The Nightly Show.” He is repped by 3 Arts, UTA & Hansen, Jacobson, Teller, Hoberman, Newman, Warren, Richman, Rush, Kaller & Gellman.
Wilson starred in the long-running NBC hit “The Office” and recently appeared in the Toronto Film Festival player “Blackbird” opposite Kate Winslet and Susan Sarandon.

MRC Film has launched Landline Pictures, a new label targeting audiences over 50. Veteran producer Amy Baer has been tapped to lead the new venture.
According to a release announcing the news, Landline Pictures “will focus on uplifting and entertaining stories that are about and targeting the over 50 demographic, yet commercial and conceptual enough to cross over to a broader audience.”
Baer, who will report to MRC Film Co-Presidents Brye Adler and Jonathan Golfman, will oversee Landline Pictures’ creative and strategic agenda and serve in a producer capacity on all the label’s projects, with the goal to generate multiple films per year for both theatrical and streaming distribution.
“Amy is a total pro’s pro and we are proud to be partnered with her on this venture. There is a huge opportunity to make humorous and thoughtful movies for this underserved audience,” Adler and Golfman said, announcing the new venture and Baer’s appointment.

There's a reason Jamie Foxx is calling his new film Just Mercy "one of the most important movies that I've ever been a part of." And why co-star and producer Michael B. Jordan felt, as he told Variety in October, "a sense of responsibility to tell this story, to make sure as many people as possible could see this film. And why, when fellow co-star Brie Larson learned of the story the film would be telling, it "just gave [her] this fire inside." And why director Destin Daniel Cretton, when finishing the book written by Bryan Stevenson that the film would be based on, sent to him by his longtime producer Gil Netter, "wanted to be a part of it any way I could." And why former...

Director Destin Daniel Cretton’s biographical drama “Just Mercy” will mark Michael B. Jordan’s much-anticipated next appearance on the big screen after a banner 2018 that saw him star in two of the year’s biggest films: “Black Panther” and “Creed II.” A likely awards season contender for Warner Bros., “Just Mercy” will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (Tiff) this month.

Michael B. Jordan’s upcoming legal drama “Just Mercy” has been shifted forward three weeks from Jan. 17 to Dec. 25 for an Oscar-qualifying theatrical release.
“Just Mercy” is based on the case of Walter McMillan, an African-American death-row prisoner who was exonerated in 1993 after being convicted five years earlier for a 1986 murder in Alabama. Bryan Stevenson, founder and executive director of the Equal Justice Initiative, took on McMillan’s cause in 1988 in his first case as an attorney and wrote the 2014 book “Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption.”
McMillan was convicted despite being at a barbecue surrounded by dozens of witnesses at the time of the murder. He was exonerated after Stevenson proved that the prosecution had suppressed evidence.
Jordan stars as Stevenson while Jamie Foxx portrays McMillan in the Warner Bros.’ film. The cast includes Brie Larson, Tim Blake Nelson, Rafe Spall, Rob Morgan and O’Shea Jackson,...

Exclusive: While he has been eyeing other projects that include a coming of age Merlin movie at Disney, Ridley Scott has begun forward progress on a sequel to Gladiator, the 2000 film which garnered 11 Oscar nominations and five wins including Best Picture and Best Actor for Russell Crowe. While Crowe’s Maximus character met his end in the classic original film, Gladiator 2 will follow the continuing story of Lucius, the son of Lucilla (Connie Nielsen), The youth was the nephew of Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix), the weaselly son of Roman leader Marcus Aurelius who murdered his father seized the throne and wound up in the gladiator ring with Maximus, who though mortally wounded, skewered the emperor before fading into the great beyond to reunite with his slain wife and son. Maximus saved the boy and his mother while avenging his own family, and left a strong impression on the young Lucius.

Oscar winner Jamie Foxx is in negotiations to join Michael B. Jordan in the courtroom drama “Just Mercy,” sources tell Variety.
The film was originally set up at Broad Green Pictures, but moved to Warner Bros., which was eager to work with Jordan, after the studio shuttered earlier last year.
“Short Term 12” director Destin Cretton is helming and co-wrote the script with Andrew Lanham. Jordan will produce with Gil Netter.

Foxx hosts the Fox series “Beat Shazam,” which is currently in its second season.
