A vidium power cell was a type of power cell used by the Federation to power space stations such as Deep Space Station K-7 in the 23rd century. The cells decayed over time and would become useless if not installed within a certain time frame.
In 2259, the USS Enterprise was assigned on a priority one mission to deliver new vidium power cells to K-7. Without them, the station's systems, including life support, would fail. (SNW: "All Those Who Wander")
