The Mentor

The Mentor opening

The Mentor was a holonovel written by The Doctor aboard the USS Voyager-A in 2384, inspirited by his time chaperoning the young crew from the USS Protostar. It told the story of a mentor and their student, replete with colorful descriptions and similes.

The Doctor was narrating the ending to his holonovel to a PADD in sickbay, when a crewman misinterpreted his conclusionary remark for a medical diagnosis. (PRO: "Ouroboros, Part II")

The mentor had always loved grey Cambridge with its quesy quick quarry. It was a place where he felt somewhat unstable.
He was a gentle, remarkable, tea drinker with diplomas and charming traits. His friends saw him as a smart, caring man. Once, he had even helped an injured puppy cross the road. That's the sort of man he was.
He walked over to the window and reflected on his [...]-ted surroundings. The rain hammered like sitting bir...
Then he saw something in the distance, or rather someone. It was the figure of a student. He was a forgetful, [...] with handsome smile and the thirst for knowledge.
As the mentor stepped outside and the student came [...] he could see the alive glint in his eye.

They looked at each other, like two cool, cautious cats sleeping at a very loud accident, which had orchestral music playing in the background.
The mentor regarded the student's comments 'Now you have learned the final and most relevant lesson.
Then they went inside for a nice cup of tea.
