In 2014, Imrie took over the role of Josh Archer in the long-running BBC Radio 4 series The Archers. His other radio credits include the adaptations of Thomas Mann's Buddenbrooks and Charles Dickens' Great Expectations, playing the main role of Pip in the latter.

In 2020, he played Prince Edward in the fourth season of the popular series The Crown and in 2022 co-starred in the second season of We Hunt Together.
