Wikicards

images and formatting coming soon

On May 2006, I contracted carpal tunnel syndrome and I was out of typing for three months. I'm still cleaning up from the Central NY downpour/flood, and I an learning how to type (dvorak this time) all over again.

Although some Wikipedians have remembered me, others treated me as if I disappeared. This moves me to share these Wikicards with the community. Give them to fellow editors who have fallen on bad times.

to an editor who left because of stress "Thank you for editing at Wikipedia. Your contributions will not be forgotten."

to an editor who has been sick "Feel better soon. You are greatly missed."

to a new editor who is stressed from learning about Wikipedia "Keep on trying. You can do it."

to a helpful editor "Thank you for your help."

to a kind editor "Thank you for your kind words."

Bio

My [real] name is Covington and I have been on Wikipedia since 17 Mar 2006. I still consider myself a new Wikipedian, so if you have any comments about how I can improve what I am doing, please post on my talk page.

I wear many hats at Wikipedia. I am a counsillor at Community Justice and a maintenance person at the Article Improvement Drive.

My personal motto is non videri sed esse (not seeming, but being) and my familial motto is non sufficit orbis (the world is inadequate). My familial symbol is the white dove.

Regardless of what some of my good friends say, I am not James Bond. Or Anakin Skywalker, or Aragorn, or even Sailor Moon. Not even close.

Classics Collaboration of the Month

Similar to the Collaboration of the week, but on a smaller scale, you might want to "adopt" an article. This would involve doing the research, writing, and picture-taking (if possible) for either a non-existent article or a stub. Of course, everyone else can still edit an adopted article, and you can work on other things too, but the idea is to find a focus for a while, to try and build up the number of quality articles the Project has produced.
