The New Central Asia project page

Hi

I revised (a bit radically) the navigation system of the Wikipedia:WikiProject Central Asia. You are a member of the project, I would appreciate if you would compare with the old page and give a feedback on the talk page. I am asking this because an old member of the project expressed concerns. Thanks. cs 22:28, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked

You have been blocked for 24 hours for violation of your revert parole at Karki (Azerbaijan). You are required to give a talk page rationale for each content revert, which you failed to do, and for which you have been blocked before. Dmcdevit·t 17:59, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

To Satisfy Your Curiosity

Hrant Dink did not ever ask the Turkish government nor the Turkish people to recognize the so-called genocide. Instead he always said that a tragedy had taken place during the Ottoman times. "I call it a genocide of Armenians, but it is not important what the name is. The fact that people of these lands can draw the same lessons, feeling the same sorrow over the same events is important," he said because he knew both Turks and Armenians suffered in this tragedy. He was a good man, who worked hard to recreate the bonds of friendship between Armenians and Turks, that have been weakened as a result of Armenian diaspora's efforts. As an Armenian American, do you know how he blamed you (the Diaspora) for standing against a peace between Turks and Armenians? Just curious... --Scientia Potentia 19:16, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WPAM

Ok, I agree with you. So you want me to go and take out all the WPAM from the Van, Kars, Erzerum, Arapgir, Artvin articles? ROOB323 20:36, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, same to you. I'll go and take them out. ROOB323 20:43, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

igdir

Please check [1]. I think I only changed Aras to Aras+ Arpacay, among the things you mentioned on the talk page. The link to the municipality was deleted, I restored that. I added several info like cotton being grown there, and some info from other Wiki articles like Erivan khanate and Armenian oblast, the other ones are minor edits. I can remove Arpacay, I am going to restore the removed ref that I noticed now, ethnic cleansing is OR, there. denizTC 22:18, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You just reverted me, please revert yourself, you can keep ethnic cleansing. The population stats are from TUIK, formerly known as DIE, Turkish Statistics Institute. denizTC 22:38, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please revert yourself, I will add the Kurdish majority information, and ethnic cleansing. In the mean time, let me find the website for pop stats. I downloaded some time ago the Excel file to update the population stats for all the provinces in Turkey. denizTC

the direct link to the file (has extension .do, change it to .xls) : [2]. It's on this website, the last item (İllere göre yıl ortası nüfus projeksiyonları). denizTC 22:49, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Also, Artaxiad Aivazovsky, this comment of mine was not for you (from an edit summary): "please do not ask for discussion on talk without you discussing first, before your revert. cleanup". Thanks for the consensus at least between the two of us. denizTC 23:02, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Lol, sorry for that, Aivazovsky. denizTC 23:08, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I apologize if I added to your frustrations. The thing is don't be bothered by what's happening in Wikipedia. Wikipedia editors (Turkish, Armenian, or any other nationality) does not have to reflect the nationality. I think 'vandals' are overrepresented in Wikipedia, as people usually need some reason to be an editor and vandals have their reason (I am not claiming that any of the people you mentioned were vandals). Also, editors might become more of a hardliner after several discussions. I guess/hope that as time passes, the vandals will decrease, not just by leaving wiki but also by changing for the good (more often than 'normal' people becoming vandals), I have such high hopes, that's why I am not so sad having joined late. denizTC 23:45, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

An idea for you

If you never revert at all, but always take it to Talk, you won't be accused of violating your ArbCom sanction. Guy (Help!) 15:53, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Accepted

I am sure you weren't yourself, it is not the kind of attitude I would expect from a long term Wikipedian like you. Still, it takes character to make the apology you did, I accept it.--Doktor Gonzo 17:46, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bedros Kapamajian

Hi! I took a look at the article in question. You are aware that the Y.G.Çark reference is Yervant Gomidas Çarkcıyan, right? I possess a 2006 re-publication of the book which I previously used in other articles to cite from. I can check the citation there very easily, if such a check is considered valid in this particular debate. On the other hand, you specifically did not want Armenian or Turkish sources, so perhaps a book in Turkish published by an Armenian Catholic priest is not considered good enough? I'm a little confused here, so if you can elaborate a little on what the controversy is, I would appreciate it. What is being disputed? Kapamajian's existence or details on the facts?
