Comedian Michelle Collins joined Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager on Today for a segment about the funniest headlines in the news when she and Bush Hager derailed the conversation with a bit of potty humor.
Collins shared one headline from The Guardian about a museum in Marseille, France, that is opening an exhibit for nudist visitors. “You can go look at the exhibit, you can get naked yourself,” she explained. “They are allowing nudity.”
Kotb and Bush Hager could not believe it. “People are walking around naked at the art exhibit?” Kotb asked, to which Collins replied, “They are walking around schlongs-a-hanging. Can I say that?” The camera then cut to actor Josh Gad, who appeared aghast as he waited for his interview to start.
The Today hosts could not hold back their laughter as Collins continued with the segment, “The one rule is that you have to keep your shoes on in the exhibit because they’re afraid you’re going to get splinters.”
“Or athlete’s foot,” Bush Hager suggested. She then coyly joked, “There are other things you can get, too.”
While she and Kotb agreed that they would not be stripping down in Marseille any time soon, the conversation appeared to remind her of something from her college days. “Did y’all ever have nude parties in college?” she suddenly asked.
The question appeared to catch everyone off guard. “What?!” Kotb asked.
While Bush Hager denies that she ever personally attended one, she hinted, “There was a school that my sister went to that did.” She then denied that it was part of the “Skull and Bones initiation,” as Collins joked.
“I’m telling you, it exists!” she insisted after she asked the Today camera crew if they knew about these so-called “nude parties.”
But Kotb wasn’t buying it. “Nobody even knows what you’re talking about,” she said.
Although it looks like Bush Hager was not making it all up, as she had insisted — her twin sister, Barbara Bush, attended Yale University, which indeed seemed to have a “naked party” scene, per the university’s student paper.
