‘Survivor’s Ryan Medrano Wins Two Silver Medals At The Paris Paralympics

From placing ninth on Survivor to two second place wins at the Paralympics! Ryan Medrano, who competed on Season 43 of the CBS reality competition series, scored his second silver medal at the Paris 2024 Summer Paralympic Games on Tuesday (Sept. 3), per Entertainment Weekly.

While his first second place title was in the men’s 100-meter T38, his most recent medal was secured in the men’s 400-meter T38. He was bested by fellow Team USA member Jaydin Blackwell in both events.

Per Medrano’s Instagram, his final event, the long jump, took place early Wednesday morning.

The T38 athletic classification refers to those with cerebral palsy with mild coordination impairments competing in track events. Per Deadline, this classification includes competitors with hypertonia, ataxia and athetosis.

Following his Survivor elimination in the fall of 2022, Medrano, who has mild cerebral palsy, told Parade that with respect to sharing his story, “the amount of support and the amount of people that have reached out is stupendous.”

“I’d say over 100 people with not only mild cerebral palsy, but other things that have given them disabilities. They’re like, “He had a disability and he powered through it. And he was able to do it.” And I always try to give them support. I always respond. And I tell them, “Thank you so much for the support.”

As noted by EW, Noelle Lambert, who competed on Survivor Season 43 alongside Medrano, is also a Paralympian. She shared a photo of Medrano earning his second silver medal from Team USA’s Instagram page to her story on Tuesday (Sept. 3) and captioned the post, “Another one.”
