‘Kinds of Kindness’ Comes to Digital, But When Will ‘Kinds of Kindness’ Be Streaming on Hulu?

It’s been less than a year since Emma Stone won the Oscar for Poor Things, and the actress is already back in another absurd comedy from director Yorgos Lanthimos.

Kinds of Kindness is coming to both digital and streaming platforms this weekend, just over two months after the film opened in theaters. Kinds of Kindness is an anthology film consisting of three shorts, all of which star Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, Willem Dafoe, Margaret Qualley, Hong Chau, Joe Alwyn, and Mamoudou Athie in different roles. While the movie didn’t make the same kind of splash with audiences and critics as 2023’s Poor Things, it’s nonetheless a title that cinephiles won’t want to miss. After all, this film has orgies and sex cults and dead bodies. Oh my!

Kinds of Kindness will be released on digital on Tuesday, August 27. Starting tomorrow, you will be able to buy Kinds of Kindness on platforms like Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Vudu, and more.

Kinds of Kindness will also be released on DVD and Blu-Ray on October 8. Both the digital and the DVD/Blu-Ray release will include two deleted scenes, and a making-of featurette titled “It Takes All Kinds: The Vision of Kinds of Kindness,” which, according to the press release, promises to show viewers “how the sets, costumes, cinematography and music amplify the film’s themes, and discover — maybe — what RMF stands for.”

But before you buy Kinds of Kindness online, you should know the Kinds of Kindness Hulu release date is very soon.

When will Kinds of Kindness be on streaming on Hulu?

Kinds of Kindness will be streaming on Hulu, free to Hulu subscribers, on Friday, August 30.

That’s just three days after Disney releases the film on digital! So if you have a Hulu subscription, you might as well wait for the Kinds of Kindness Hulu release date on August 30.

Though we’re surprised by the speed of the Kinds of Kindness Hulu release, we’re not surprised the movie will stream on Hulu. Kinds of Kindness was a Searchlight Pictures release, a studio that is owned by Disney. Most Disney-owned films that are not appropriate for children—which would certainly include the R-rated sex cults of Kinds of Kindness—are sent to the Disney-owned streamer Hulu, rather than the family-friendly platform Disney+.

That said, most theatrical Searchlight Picture releases haven’t been released on Hulu until a month or so after the movie’s digital release. Kinds of Kindness—which opened in theaters two months ago, on June 21—is an exception. Enjoy it!
