Fry and the gang have returned for an all new season of Futurama on Hulu.

The hit animated series is back with yet another incarnation in this 10-episode arc of new intergalactic adventures. Except this time, the Planet Express crew will be grappling with life-threatening birthday parties, artificial intelligence, and, in Monday’s new episode, jealous chatbots.

DECIDER got an exclusive look at the episode, titled “One is Silicon and the Other Gold,” where it looks like Leela’s been struggling with something bigger than NFTs or temp work this season.

The clip shows the crew receiving a “huge” phone bill, revealing Leela’s been spending her free time with a rather questionable companion.

In true Bender fashion, the robot suspects it might be someone calling one of “those disgusting party sex lines.”

Leela attempts to avoid suspicion by claiming she was simply talking to her “friend” Chelsea. But the charges were made to a chatbot service called Chatty Chelsea, prompting Fry to ask her, “Leela, is that your friend Chelsea? Does she work there?”

Amy is able to piece the story together faster than the rest of her crew. “Oh my god, your friend is a chatbot!” she announces.

“Fine, yes! Are you happy?! I’ve been feeling like I don’t have any real friends so I joined a chatbot service to learn to interact with people,” she declares. “And it worked! Chelsea is my best friend now.”

Of course, Leela’s shipmates are not exactly the most supportive crew…

“Your best friend is an AI who you pay to talk to?!” Bender replies. “How embarrassing… for Chelsea!”

Hulu’s Futurama reboot marks the third time the show has been revived since it first premiered 25 years ago on Fox Network. Hulu ordered 20 new episodes of the show back in 2022, with the latter half airing now on the streaming network.

Created by Matt Groening and David X. Cohen, the critically acclaimed animated series has won six Primetime Emmy Awards.

Hulu’s Futurama reboot stars the entire original cast: Billy West, John DiMaggio, Katey Sagal, David Herman, Maurice LaMarche, and Tress MacNeille.
