‘Longlegs’ Comes to Digital, But Will ‘Longlegs’ Be Streaming on Hulu?

Longlegs will be available to stream on digital platforms tomorrow, which means you can start your spooky season early by watching Nicolas Cage’s buzzy new horror movie at home.

Written and directed by Osgood Perkins, Longlegs stars Maika Monroe as an FBI agent named Lee Harker, who is assigned to investigate a series of murder-suicides in Oregon in the 1990s. All the cases involve a patriarch killing his family, and then himself, with a suicide note signed “Longlegs.” The case is tough, but Lee has a secret: She’s kinda, sorta psychic. That’s a certain to be a skill that comes in handy when investigating crimes!

In addition to Cage and Monroe, Longlegs also stars Blair Underwood and Alicia Witt. The film quickly gained a reputation among horror fans as one of the scariest films of the year, and was a financial hit for the studio, Neon. Longlegs earned an estimated $100 million at the worldwide box office.

No doubt Neon hopes to make a new chunk of change now that the movie will be available to buy online. Longlegs will be released on premium video-on-demand, to buy and rent, on Friday, August 23, according to the Amazon landing page for the movie.

Beginning at 12 a.m. Eastern Time on August 23 (which is also 9 p.m. Pacific Time on August 22) the Longlegs movie will be available to buy and rent on Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Vudu, and more. The price may vary depending on which platform you use to purchase the film, but on Amazon Prime the movie will cost $24.99 to buy, and $19.99 to rent.

How to rent Longlegs online:

Longlegs will be available to rent on digital platforms like Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Vudu, and more, beginning on August 23. The movie will cost $19.99 to rent, and you’ll have 48 hours to watch the movie after hitting “play.”

Longlegs is not yet available on a subscription streaming service, but we do expect to see Longlegs streaming on Hulu eventually.

When will Longlegs be streaming on Hulu?

Unless the final stage of the Disney+ and Hulu merger finally happens, you’ll likely see Longlegs streaming on Hulu later this year. Another Neon horror movie, Immaculate, began streaming on Hulu about five months after it opened in theaters. If Longlegs follows a similar release pattern, you may see Longlegs on Hulu around December 2024. On the other hand, another Neon release, It Lives Inside, began streaming on Hulu just three months after opening in theaters—so it’s not a hard and fast rule.
