Heather Dubrow can’t seem to escape the allegations that she staged her own paparazzi photos. While she denied the rumors in The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 17, they came back to haunt her in Thursday night’s (Aug. 1) episode when newcomer Katie Ginella claimed to have some sort of evidence that proved otherwise. Meanwhile, Tamra Judge and Emily Simpson marveled at the chance to catch Dubrow in a lie.

In one particular scene, Judge claimed Dubrow “loves” going to places where paparazzi typically camp out, noting that those photos of Dubrow and her husband in Disneyland were “obviously staged.” Simpson agreed with Judge that it’s “funny” when Dubrow “gets caught,” before later adding, “I would like for Fancy Pants to actually get caught with her fancy pants around her ankles for once. I would just find that amusing.”

Dubrow stopped by DECIDER’s offices ahead of the new episode — and we asked her how she felt about Simpson’s shady remark.

“I love Emily. That was a very difficult scene for me to watch because as a friend, I want my friends to succeed,” she said. “And to hear Emily say that she was excited to see something, maybe bad, happen to me, see that I’m flawed — we’re all flawed. No one’s perfect. But the glee with which it was all said, it was very disturbing to me.”

Dubrow later revealed on Watch What Happens Live that Judge texted her and apologized for her part in the scene.

“To give you an example of where Tamra and I are today, that scene that you saw tonight with Emily and Tamra talking about me was very disturbing and upsetting,” Dubrow said. “And I got many text messages from Tamra, apologizing, explaining, ‘Let’s work through this, let’s talk about it.’”

She added, “I’ve been friends with Tamra for over 13 years and yeah, sometimes things are said that aren’t cool and you gotta get through them and we will.”

As for Ginella’s alleged proof — which turned out to be a mere text message between her and a friend — Dubrow quipped, “Someone has to teach Katie what a receipt is.”

The Real Housewives of Orange County airs every Thursday at 9/8c on Bravo. New episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.
