Jax Taylor is pursuing in-patient mental health support.

A representative for Taylor told TMZ that he “has always been candid about his mental health struggles, especially during the past few months on his podcast.”

“He has made the decision to seek in-patient treatment,” their statement continued. “This is a particularly sensitive time for him and his family. They ask for privacy and respect until he is ready to speak more on this matter.”

Taylor’s manager confirmed the statement to Decider.

As highlighted by TMZ, Taylor has seemingly alluded to taking this step toward working on his mental health on his Instagram. Per TMZ and People, he posted a picture of the following books to his story: Get Out of Your Mind & Into Your Life and Set Boundaries, Find Peace. The post was captioned, “Healing.” Earlier this week, he also shared the following Buddhist quote: “Be strong enough to stand alone, smart enough to know when you need help, and brave enough to ask for it.”

This update arrives in the months following his split from fellow Vanderpump Rules and The Valley personality Brittany Cartwright. The two broke the news of their separation in February, just weeks ahead of The Valley‘s Bravo debut. Taylor previously opened up to DECIDER about his separation from Cartwright, noting back in May that he was “going through a lot of personal things right now with mental health” and that he “think[s] it was a good move for [them] to take a little bit of time apart.”

“We still see each other every day. She’s literally down the street,” he said at the time. “We take our son to school, to swim. The only thing that’s changed is she’s not sleeping at the house anymore. I don’t know where we stand from here.

“I don’t know what’s going to happen. But right now, just for both of our mental health, this is just something that we need to do,” he said. “I just need to do a little bit of work on myself. I need to fix myself before I can be good for anybody. But that’s kind of where it’s at right now.”

Us Weekly reported that Taylor and Jesse Lally were recently spotted filming Season 2 of the Vanderpump spin-off. The latter and his now ex, Michelle Saniei Lally, also separated prior to The Valley‘s premiere. Michelle told DECIDER that she and Cartwright “absolutely” leaned on each other amid their respective separations.

“We’ve both moved out of our houses so we have a lot more time to ourselves,” she noted. “It’s interesting. What are the odds that two close friends would be going through something super similar and dealing with men that have similar personalities? We absolutely text each other, call each other and try to have dinner together at least once a week.”

Season 1 of The Valley is streaming on Peacock.
