Before he was stoic sailor Alyn of Hull on HBO‘s House of the Dragon, Abubakar Salim was winning over genre fans as the avuncular android known as “Father” on Max’s late, great Raised By Wolves. The Ridley Scott-produced sci-fi show dazzled viewers with insane visuals, bonkers plot twists, and the phenomenal performances of stars Amanda Collin, Travis Fimmel, Niamh Algar, and the aforementioned Salim.

However, Raised By Wolves was one of several Max shows axed and purged from the service during the Warner Bros. Discovery merger. Today, the only place you can catch the imaginative show is on random Tubi replays, even if the fandom is still hungry for more. And Abubakar Salim has a bold plan to bring it to them. Namely, he wants his own video game company, Surgent Studios, to make a Raised By Wolves video game.

When Decider was concluding our recent House of the Dragon-related chat with Salim, the fate of Raised By Wolves came up.

“I think there’s so much that needs to be done with that show,” Salim said. “It could [come back]. You know, and that’s the thing, that’s why I’m always talking to [Ridley Scott’s production company] Scott Free and the team.”

“‘Guys, okay, here’s an idea. You know, I’d love to make it into a video game.’ I’m just like, ‘Bring it to me.'”

Abubakar Salim isn’t just an actor, but an entrepreneur. He is the CEO and founder of the aforementioned Surgent Studios, a film and video game company that just published its first game, Tales of Kenzera: ZAU, through EA Originals. Not only that, but Salim is an experience video game actor, known for voicing Bayek in Assassin’s Creed: Origins. The prospect of a Raised By Wolves video game makes sense, especially considering the sinister role an actual video game plays in Season 2!

Raised By Wolves creator and showrunner Aaron Guzikowski told Decider back in 2022 that he planned on continuing work on the story in some capacity no matter its fate at Max.

“I just continuously work on this thing forever.” Guzikowski said. “I will tell this story until the day someone stops me is basically my plan. So everyday I get up in the morning and I just keep on putting the pieces together and trying to decode things and trying to figure it out.”

“Hopefully we’ll get a chance to do the whole thing. But if we don’t I’ll figure out how to get it out there some other way. I’ll draw it and it’ll take me like 30 years.”

For now, though, Abubakar Salim is focused on House of the Dragon, where he’s “dying” to have a scene with former Raised By Wolves co-star, Amanda Collin, who was introduced as Lady Jeyne Arryn in Season 2.

“Amanda’s amazing. I remember when she was here filming and reached out to me, and it’s just so lovely seeing Amanda. She’s such a joy, man. And it was such a shame with Raised by Wolves because I really enjoyed that show mainly because of the people and I think it’s really nice to be reunited with her I just wish they were all back, you know?”

“I’ll just have to talk to [casting director] Kate Rhodes James and be like, “Hey, can we just, you know, maybe?”

Whether it’s an original video game or funneling the Raised By Wolves cast onto House of the Dragon, Father is on it.
