Are you scared? If not, get ready to be this fall! Scare Tactics is coming back to USA Network under the direction of Jordan Peele and his production company, Monkeypaw Productions.

Peele’s production company is widely known for producing hit films such as Get Out, Us, BlackKKKlansman and Candyman.

His Scare Tactics reboot will follow the same filming style as the original show, utilizing hidden cameras and unsuspecting individuals. Contestants will be set up by their family and friends and will be dropped into horror scenarios that blur the lines of reality and make-believe.

According to a press release shared with DECIDER, “Scare Tactics will turn unsuspecting individuals into the main characters of their very own horror movies. This heart-pounding show offers a cinematic approach to the hidden camera concept.”

The release continues, “Set up by their friends and family, these unwitting participants are put in hilariously twisted scenarios with fully immersive stories that blur the lines of reality, horror and comedy. As they navigate one unreal decision after another, audiences will laugh, jump and be left breathless for more.”

Peele’s production company has promised to put an inventive twist on the new season, designing never-before used scenarios.

“It’s cathartic and hilarious to watch people get a little scared, and the scenarios we cooked up for this season are really wild,” Win Rosenfeld, President of Monkeypaw Productions, said in the press release. “We can’t wait to share a little light-hearted schadenfreude with audiences soon.”

Fans of the original show — which ran from 2003 to 2013 on Syfy with hosts including Shannen Doherty, Stephen Baldwin, and Tracy Morgan — have been hopeful for a reboot for years.

Under Monkeypaw Productions’ official announcement on their X account, fans of the original could not contain their excitement.

“This made my whole year! I can’t wait to see the twisted scenarios you all cook up!” one user wrote.

“Greatest news of the century and I’d love to be involved in any way possible,” commented another.

“BEST NEWS,” a third user simply put.

As of now, there is no official release date for the rebooted series, but it is expected to premiere this fall.
