The Music Dance Experience is officially uncanceled!

After more than two years of impatiently waiting, Severance fans finally have something to celebrate. At long last, Severance Season 2 has a premiere date, and unlike Mark (Adam Scott), Helly (Britt Lower), Dylan (Zach Cherry), and Irving (John Turturro), we can’t wait to return to Lumon’s eerie white halls.

Apple TV+‘s critically-acclaimed workplace thriller, created and executive produced by Dan Erickson and directed and executive produced by Ben Stiller, is returning with its highly-anticipated Season 2 premiere on January 17, 2025.

The bad news? Fans have to wait until next year to reunite with their favorite Innies and Outties. The good news? Severance Season 2 will consist of 10 episodes, with new ones dropping every Friday until the March 21, 2025 finale.

Oh, and we’ve got an exciting 30-second sneak peek to help hold you over!

Per Apple TV+, “In season two, Mark and his friends learn the dire consequences of trifling with the severance barrier, leading them further down a path of woe.” The teaser located at the top of this article shows the MDR team getting back into the elevator along with shots of what appears to be the Lumon parking lot, someone riding a motorcycle, Outtie (or Innie as Outtie) Helly walking down a hallway, Outtie (or Innie as Outtie) Mark sprinting outside, Irv laughing, Milchick racing down a Lumon hallway, a drawing of Burt, and so much more.

Get ready to pause and overanalyze — especially on that final haunting shot! (WHAT?!)

In addition to Scott, Lower, Cherry, and Turturro, returning Season 1 stars including Tramell Tillman, Jen Tullock, Michael Chernus, Dichen Lachman, Christopher Walken, and Patricia Arquette will be back for more. Plus, Severance Season 2 is also adding Sarah Bock as a series regular — though specific details about new characters are still unknown.

During Apple’s recent WWDC, fans also got a quick sneak peak at Severance Season 2 in a preview video that showed Outtie Mark — who looked quite rattled, in my opinion — stepping inside Lumon’s elevator to head down to work. He put his keycard around his neck and next thing we knew, Milchick was standing in what appeared to be MDR’s office, wearing a black jacket, Lumon lapel pin, and a stunning blue turtleneck. With blue Mark face balloons in hand, he smiled and cheerfully said, “Welcome back! Been a minute!”

Later in the Apple TV+ preview, we saw Mark (possibly in the elevator) flashing between what appeared to be past and present. One second he was in his usual snazzy work getup complete with suit and tie — the next he was wearing a red sweater, black pants, and white sneakers. At one point, we even saw him surrounded by screens with wires attached to his head, as if he was about to undergo the severance procedure. Finally, we got a glimpse of him laying on a Lumon conference room table, just like Helly did after her procedure in the premiere. (Are we throwing it back to Severed Mark in Season 2?! Please!)

As noted in our previous piece, the quickness of the interspersed clips suggest that Mark may be having intrusive, uncontrolled bursts of memories in Season 2. Is he capable of remembering his home-life at work post-finale? Are those flashes to his original procedure and wake-up? Or is he undergoing another memory wipe now that he knows Too Much?! If it’s a fresh memory reset, is the “Clean Slate” feature in the security room to blame? Or is some sort of reintegration at play? The questions go on and on and if you want even more to think about, Apple TV+ also shared the following tweet a day before the premiere date drop.

To paraphrase the great Mark Scout: “So That’s Unknown, Unknown, January 17, Unknown, Unknown.” It may not be much, but hey, we’ll take it!
