It looks like we’re in for another round of streaming services increasing prices. First, Max increased two of three plans effective immediately on June 4, and next week, Philo is set to increase the price of its one and only core live streaming package.

Luckily, though, the Philo price increase only applies to new customers beginning June 12, which means that signing up today will lock you into the current price indefinitely.

RELATED: What is Philo?

So, if you were thinking about subscribing to Philo for over 90 live TV channels at one low price: here’s your sign to do it sooner rather than later. Here’s everything you need to know about Philo, the price change, and more.

How Much is Philo Per Month?

From now through June 12, Philo’s core subscription plan will cost $25.00/month, making it one of the most affordable live TV streaming packages.

On June 12, Philo’s core price will increase to $28.00/month… still making it one of the most affordable live TV streaming packages. The $3/month increase will account for some changes to the core plan we’ve detailed below.

Current Philo subscribers won’t actually be forced into paying for the upgrade, though.

In a note on the Philo blog, CEO Andrew McCollum wrote, “Like the previous time we raised our price, we didn’t want our existing subscribers to feel forced into a price increase. That remains true — current subscribers will be able to keep their current package and price.”

If you’re a Philo subscriber but the addition of AMC+ is intriguing to you, you’ll have the option to upgrade. But if $25/month is perfect for you, you’ll keep that price indefinitely.

If you want to lock in that pre-upgraded $25.00/month price, subscribe now, because once the price goes up, you won’t be able to lock in a lower rate.

Is Philo’s Core Plan Changing?

Yes and no. Nothing is being taken away, but anyone who signs up for Philo after the June 12 price increase will get the AMC+ streaming service bundled into the core plan.

You’ll still have access to all of the same channels, plus titles from Shudder, IFC, AMC+ Originals, and more that are streaming on the AMC+ platform. AMC+ subscribers will also get early access to new episodes of AMC series — for example, rather than having to wait until 9 p.m. ET on Sundays to catch new episodes of Interview with the Vampire, the new episodes are available to stream on-demand on Sunday morning for AMC+ subscribers.

Does Philo Have A Free Trial?

Yes! Get your first seven days of Philo for free before payment kicks in.
