Kathie Lee Gifford‘s talk show tenure spanned both Live with Regis and Kathie Lee and Today, but the former host said that since exiting both shows, she hasn’t really tuned in to either of them.

“You know what. I never watched Regis after I left our show,” she revealed to the New York Post. “I never watched the Today show once I left.”

According to the Post, Friday (April 5) marks five years since her departure from Today. However, she explained to the outlet, “I want to know what’s going on in this world, but I don’t want it in the Today show kind of way.”

“Just give me the facts, folks,” she added.

Nonetheless, she praised her two former co-hosts, the late Regis Philbin, and current Today Show co-anchor Hoda Kotb — the latter of whom she said she “just was texting.” She noted that she stayed in both roles for as long as she did because she was “in love” with both Philbin and Kotb.

“I feel like I was one of the most blessed people in the world to be able to work with two such extraordinary people,” she shared.

In January, Kotb shouted out Gifford on the air, telling viewers that she is “living her best life” in Nashville.

“She’s playing with the cutest grandkids, putting out good music, so Kat, love you,” she said.

Kotb also said that Gifford “would be perfect” as a candidate for The Golden Bachelorette on Today with Hoda & Jenna in February. Gifford then stopped by the show in March, where her successor Jenna Bush Hager told her, “We stand by the fact that we think you would be the best Golden Bachelorette of all time.”

Kotb agreed, claiming that she “would bring romance back.”

However, Gifford teased that if she were to appear on the show, “they would have to make it completely different.”

“They’d have to make them much younger,” she said.
