Who Plays Shane Oman In the 2024 ‘Mean Girls’ Cast? Everyone’s Thirsting Over Brian Altemus

Move over Aaron Samuels, because the 2024 Mean Girls cast has Gen Z thirsting over an unlikely character: Shane Oman.

Shane Oman from the original Mean Girls is perhaps better known as the dude that Regina George cheats with every Thursday in the projection room above the auditorium. In the 2024 Mean Girls, Shane Oman gets less than five minutes of screen time—but that was more than enough to capture the attention of viewers.

It likely helps that a good chunk of that screen time is spent sans clothing and that the actor who plays Shane Oman is a very beautiful man. Like in the original film, we first learn of Shane after Gretchen Weiners (played by Bebe Wood) spills the beans that her dear friend Regina (Renée Rapp) is cheating on her boyfriend, Aaron (Christopher Briney). Protagonist Cady Heron (Angourie Rice) lets the news slip to Aaron, who in turn catches Regina and Shane in the act. (This time they are hooking up in a custodian closet, rather than the projection room. See, Mom, it’s not a shot-for-shot remake!)

Aaron opens the door to the closet and discovers Shane Oman naked, and Regina in a state of undress. Regina quickly slams the door shut, but not before we get a glimpse of naked Shane Oman seated in the sink.

This brief dose of eye candy has viewers of all genders on Twitter and TikTok thirsting hard for Shane Oman. “Honestly I too prob would have cheated on Aaron Samuels with Shane Oman,” wrote one user on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Author Matt Bellasai agreed, posting, “shane oman is exponentially hotter than aaron samuels.”

And one particularly bold user declared, “shane oman was so hot in the new mean girls i almost busted during the hookup scene.”

Not to be outdone, the TikTok girls also declared their newfound love for Shane Oman

Who plays Shane Oman in Mean Girls 2024?

Shane Oman is played by Brian Altemus, a 26-year-old actor from Pennsylvania. Altemus is best known for his roles in Harlan Coben’s Shelter, where he had a main role as a student at Kasselton High School named Troy Taylor; and Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, where he had a small supporting role as Tyler Marchand. Altemus has also had small roles in TV series version of The Time Traveler’s Wife, the Netflix series Grand Army, and the critically acclaimed 2020 indie film Never Rarely Sometimes Always.

Now that he’s stolen the spotlight from Aaron Samuels with the sheer power of his chiseled jawline, maybe we’ll see Altemus in more leading roles down the line. For now, we’ll just have to wait for Mean Girls to come to streaming so we can watch and rewatch that custodian closet scene.
