Russell Brand is facing more accusations of sexual assault after an extra from his 2011 comedy Arthur filed a lawsuit on Friday (Nov. 3) with the New York Supreme Court.

According to Variety, the woman — who is referred to in the lawsuit as Jane Doe — alleges that Brand exposed himself to her in front of the cast and crew while working on the movie.

In the lawsuit, Doe claims, “The sexual assault happened later that same day when I was in the bathroom. Mr. Brand entered after me and assaulted me, as a member of the production crew guarded the door from outside.”

The lawsuit continues, “As a result of the sexual abuse, I suffered and continue to suffer extreme embarrassment, shame, and fear.”

Prior to the assault, Doe said Brand “appeared intoxicated, smelled of alcohol, and was carrying a bottle of vodka” while on set.

Brand starred as the titular lead in the 2011 rom-com, which also stars Helen Mirren, Greta Gerwig and Jennifer Garner.

The unnamed actress claimed that she was booked to work on set for three days, but said she wasn’t called back after the assault took place “and was only paid for one day of work.”

She later expressed fear of being “blacklisted in the industry” for reporting the assault.

In an interview with U.K. outlet The Times, Doe recalled feeling “used and abused” after the alleged assault took place.

“Disgusting is the only word,” she said. “I felt like I was being used, that I was just an object for his momentary titillation.”

These are the latest accusation Brand has faced after The Times and Channel 4 released an investigation last month that exposed at least four sexual assault allegations against the actor, all of which allegedly took place between 2006 and 2013.

Brand shared a video on X preemptively denying the allegations before the investigation was published. He called the accusations made in the report “a litany of extremely egregious and aggressive attacks,” and maintained that the “relationships” he had at the time were “absolutely, always consensual.”

The allegations against him include comedian Kathy Griffin claiming Brand assaulted her friend at an AA meeting.

Brand was also reportedly dropped from Comedy Central’s Roast Battle in 2018 after Katherine Ryan accused him of being a “sexual predator.”
