Drew Barrymore Reveals “Ginger Spice” Geri Halliwell Sends Her Potential Suitors on ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’: “She’s Better Than A Dating App!”

If you wanna be Drew Barrymore‘s lover, you gotta be vetted by her famous friend, Ginger Spice.

On this morning’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, the host and her trusty sidekick — the hilarious Ross Mathews — dished on all things related to celebrity gossip on the opening segment of the show, Drew’s News.

Today kicked off with an Insider headline about how Martha Stewart’s famous friends are terrible matchmakers, and that she’s “disappointed” in their efforts.

After raving about how she loves that “Martha doesn’t hold back,” Barrymore was asked by Mathews about her own matchmaking experiences with friends. 

It turns out that singer-songwriter Geri Halliwell, aka Ginger Spice of the Spice Girls, is Barrymore’s current wingwoman! 

“She’s better than a dating app, oh my god!” Barrymore gushed, before sharing that Halliwell will often text her photos of potential suitors to consider. “You not only get a picture of a lovely person but she’s like ‘And I’ve already vetted, he’s interested!’”

To be honest, having a cool, gorgeous, and famous pop star sending you photos of already-down dudes to choose from does sound like heaven for those of us who are spectacularly lazy when it comes to dating. And Barrymore agrees: “It’s the loveliest thing and we should all be setting each other up more!”

Mathews was, appropriately, delightfully surprised by this casual name-drop revelation: “I’m sorry, Ginger Spice is hooking you up — you’re Dating Spice! That’s who you are!” 

But it seems that perhaps only a womance has materialized out of the dynamic between the two so far: 

“Funny enough, I want to hang out with her, she’s the biggest catch of them all!” Barrymore said. “She’s such an amazing person, and I feel so sisterly with her, so she could just send me pictures of herself and I would swipe, ‘Yes, yes, yes!’”

Now that’s what I call girl power!
