While competing on Thursday’s (June 8) episode of Jeopardy, contestant David Ford told the audience about the hilarious time he got to meet his idol.

“From a very young age, you loved game shows, and something very special happened when you were six,” host Mayim Bialik said, per The Sun.

“That’s correct. I crashed Pat Sajak‘s wedding rehearsal,” Ford revealed, before joking, “Here comes the restraining order in 3, 2, 1…”

Ford explained, “I went to school and church where he got married, and the pastor and my kindergarten teacher knew I was a massive fan, so they said, ‘Look, just have your dad bring you at the end of the service, and then sneak on back and you can say hi to him.'”

But the big moment didn’t happen the way he might have hoped.

“It finally got to that point and I froze,” Ford admitted. “I froze, I couldn’t do it, he was an idol for me back then.”

Bialik couldn’t stop laughing as he recounted the charming story. Though he still seems to be a “massive” fan of game shows, he failed to mention if Sajak is still his idol.

Sajak has been hosting Wheel of Fortune since 1981. He’s recently made headlines for teasing contestants while on the show, even going so far as asking one over-zealous contestant who kept making incorrect guesses, “Why are you bothering?”

It might be time for Ford to try his hand on Wheel of Fortune. Let’s just hope he ends up on Sajak’s good side.

Ford, who is a sales manager from Maryland, finished in last place during Thursday’s episode with $4,400.

He might not be moving on to another episode, but maybe Bialik can introduce him to Sajak.

Jeopardy! airs on weeknights at 7/6c on ABC.
