With Prince Harry attending King Charles III‘s coronation amidst his estrangement from his family after putting them all on blast in his memoir Spare, the ladies of The View have a few thoughts.

The Hot Topics table weighed in with their takes on the Duke of Sussex attending the event during today’s show.

Despite Alyssa Farah Griffin telling the panel that she’s “on the fence with the royals,” she admitted that she “enjoyed” the coronation “so much.”

“I thought it was a beautiful ceremony but I kept being struck by the Harry factor,” she said. “I told you guys I read Spare, which was excellent. It’s worth reading his book.”

Griffin continued, “But I couldn’t help but think for this pivotal moment in his dad’s life, did he maybe want to have a more prominent role and be there with his brother?”

The screen then cut to a clip of Harry sitting several rows behind his immediate family, with the feather on Princess Anne’s hat obstructing the camera’s view of his face.

“It didn’t help that his aunt was dressed like a cockatoo, covering up half his face,” Ana Navarro joked.

Meanwhile, Sunny Hostin — who is all into the “pomp and circumstance” surrounding the royal family — agreed with Griffin in sympathizing with the former royal.

“I also felt for Harry. I mean, he is King Charles’ son,” she said. “And he was all the way in the back. He had the nosebleed seats. He wasn’t on the balcony [at Buckingham Palace].”

Hostin added, “He jetted. He looked like he was waiting for an Uber ride after. He left Westminster Abbey and went home. So I think it was great that he was there. I’m hoping it’s a sign of reconciliation within the family.”

Prince Harry’s surprising attendance at his father’s coronation comes months after he and his wife Meghan Markle released Harry & Meghan — the Netflix docuseries in which they detailed their love story and their decision to retire from being working royals.

Amidst his shocking book tour earlier this year for Spare, Harry also opened up about a physical altercation between himself and his brother Prince William, and also called Queen Camilla the “villain” and referred to his family as “abusers.”

While he said at the time that “they’ve shown no willingness to reconcile,” hopefully his appearance at the coronation brings them one step closer to the family therapy they all desperately need!

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
