Brie Larson Stars in ‘Lessons in Chemistry’: Trailer, Release Date, What We Know

Brie Larson is putting on her lab coat to lead the new series adaptation of Bonnie Garmus’ bestseller Lessons in Chemistry.

In the adaptation, Larson stars as Elizabeth Zott, a scientist-turned-daytime television host in the 1960s. The actress will star opposite Top Gun: Maverick actor Lewis Pullman and Aja Naomi King from How To Get Away With Murder.

The series follows Zott as she finds herself at the forefront of groundbreaking research, then ending up pregnant and fired from her lab. As the show’s description notes, “She accepts a job on a TV cooking show and sets out to teach a nation of overlooked housewives way more than recipes.”

The television adaptation was ordered straight to series in 2021 before Garmus’ debut novel was even released. Erin Brockovich screenwriter Susannah Grant wrote and executive produced the show. Larson is also an executive producer on the series, along with Jason Bateman and Michael Costigan.

Lessons In Chemistry is set to premiere later this year on Apple TV+. According to the streamer’s official website, it is slated to release this fall, though a specific date has not yet been announced.
