TikTok Skewers Jamie Lynn Spears’ Fox ‘Special Forces’ Reality Show Casting

“If you should die, that is nature’s way of saying you failed,” is the opening line for the trailer of the new FOX reality show Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test. Whew. Premiering January 4, the TV series follows 16 celebrities taken to the desert to be put to the ultimate test by former special forces soldiers. Contestants participate in real special forces training courses, and the sneak peek into the challenges includes escaping a sinking car and fighting each other in hand to hand combat. But the main event? Jamie Lynn Spears’ appearance, which is getting ripped on TikTok.

Unlike most reality shows, there are no elimination rounds on this show. The sole purpose is to survive 10 grueling days. The hella dramatic trailer showed clips of the celebs in some of their roughest moments: Mel B throwing punches, Dwight Howard close to tears, and former Bachelorette Hannah Brown taking a huge gasp or air after rising out of a body of water.

But the opening scene of the trailer is none other than Jamie Lynn Spears, looking real rugged, falling backwards out of a plane into the ocean. “Singer/Actress” Jamie Lynn is one of the 16 celebrity contestants and audiences were quite shocked to see her. The trailer for the show was posted to TikTok on the Reality Club Fox page. With Spears’ face being the first thing people see, viewers ran to the comments. And the comments…did not disappoint. Here are some of my personal favorites that seem to encompass everyone’s feeling about Jamie Lynn’s attempt to bring herself back into the limelight.

  • ” I very much would like to watch Jamie Lynn Spears tortured thank you I will be watching.”
  • “Ted Cruz?! Nevermind it’s Jamie Lynn…
  • “Jamie Lynn is neither rich or famous. Hope she gets eaten by something.”
  • “Oh Jamie Lynn Spears- put to work since she can’t ride on her sister’s money anymore lol”
  • “Can they just leave Jamie Lynn stranded there?”
  • “I wanna see Jamie Lynn SUFFERRRRRRRR.”
  • “They should make Jamie Lynn do this everyday for the next 13 years.”

The list of disapproving comments goes on, sandwiched between comments where people point out how the entire show simply screams American military propaganda… and criticize the show’s choice of “celebrities.” Towards the end of the trailer Jamie Lynn tearfully says, “I just wanna feel like I’m just like worth something.” If you read her book and have any interest in seeing Jamie Lynn work out her imposter syndrome while completing army drills and whatnot… give the show a watch?
