Drew Barrymore Reveals She’s In The “Dead Heat” of Perimenopause on ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’: “I Cried This Morning Over Air Conditioning”

Just when we thought we couldn’t love Drew Barrymore any more than we already do, she goes and has Naomi Watts give her a gua sha facial massage on The Drew Barrymore Show filled with peak facial expressions and perimenopausal revelations.

While promoting her new skincare line, Stripes, Watts had Barrymore hop on a massage table as she performed her skincare regimen, which the host pointed out was “based in support of perimenopause and menopause.” Barrymore went on to tell her audience, “As someone who’s in the dead heat of perimenopause, I am ready for this.”

As Watts began massaging some sort of serum on Barrymore’s face, the talk show host went crosseyed for the camera. When the Watcher actress talked about the products being “specifically powerful because they’re great for menopausal or perimenopausal skin,” Barrymore immediately pointed to herself.

Regarding her experience with perimenopause, the 50 First Dates actress admitted she feels “crazy” and that she “cried this morning over air conditioning,” before going on to tell Watts, “Lately I feel like my body, my belly is full of, some type of, I don’t know, I would call it cortisol or cottage cheese, I’m not sure which it is. But, like, it’s not my belly. And it doesn’t matter what I eat.”

After Watts opened up about losing “so much hair,” Barrymore quipped, “Really? Have you lost your mind, too?”

The conversation about perimenopause and ending the stigma around it continued throughout the segment, but what we couldn’t help but notice was Barrymore’s priceless facial expressions as Watts lathered on the lotions. The actress transitioned from crosseyed and silly faces to relaxed and worried expressions. And if we learned anything (besides the obvious), it’s that one could be so lucky as to get a facial alongside Drew Barrymore.

The Drew Barrymore Show airs on weekdays at 9:30 ET on CBS.
