Decider After Dark

‘Fate: The Winx Saga’ Season 2 Gives Bloom and Sky a Steamy, Dreamy, Fairy Tale Sex Scene

I have to admit there was a lot I forgot about Fate: The Winx Saga Season 1. I didn’t remember quite what was going on with Aster Dale and the Blood Witches. I totally forgot that Beatrix (Sadie Soverall) was in a throuple with Riven (Freddie Thorp) and Dane (Theo Graham). And I certainly didn’t remember that the students at Alfea College were so gosh darn horny. Fate: The Winx Saga Season 2 opens with two fairies hardcore making out at an outdoor kegger and doesn’t let up. We get shirtless boys a plenty, roommates negotiating for sex time in a shared suite, and one steamy PG-13 sex scene between Bloom and Sky, played coincidentally by real-life couple Abigail Cowen and Danny Griffin.

Fate: The Winx Saga Season 2 Episode 2 “Taken By the Wind” lets the show’s most popular love birds get away from campus for a while. They have a literal frolic in nature and ride a pure white horse as Taylor Swift’s “Wildest Dreams” plays before having sex on Sky’s childhood bed. It’s almost silly in its sweetness, but Sky and Bloom’s couple’s outing makes for a welcome reprieve from the non-stop drama of Fate: The Winx Saga Season 2.

Fate: The Winx Saga Season 2 starts shortly after the bonkers events of Season 1. Rosalind (Miranda Richardson) is ruling over Alfea College with an iron fist, Silva (Robert James-Collier) is languishing in prison, and the Winx Suite gang has no idea that Dowling (Eve Best) was straight up murdered by Rosalind. Bloom is still reeling from the mystery of being a changeling who was kidnapped by Blood Witches and Sky can’t believe his heroic father Andreas (Ken Duken) is both alive and kind of a dick.

Needless to say, Bloom and Sky need a good, healthy day off from their troubles. So while Sky leads Bloom to his childhood home to procure a book or some sort of MacGuffin I totally wasn’t paying attention to, the sexy couple takes a moment to embrace the time away from Alfea. When Bloom is shocked by the gorgeous countryside Sky grew up in, he encourages her to do some “frolicking.” When she sees actual wild horses grazing, he takes her on a dreamy ride. Oh, and like I said, this is all happening while Taylor Swift’s “Wildest Dreams” plays. For once, Fate: The Winx Saga feels like a girly show about fairies living their best life!

But Bloom and Sky’s playdate doesn’t end there. Once they finally arrive at Sky’s childhood home, Bloom gives her brooding boyfriend a pep talk about how he’s not defined by who Andreas is or isn’t. He is a kind, honest, perfect boy, and, yes, they’re going to bone on his childhood bed.

Doing it on Sky’s twin bed aside, it’s kind of a dreamy sex scene. Sure, it’s a classic old school PG-13 “fade to black” sex scene, but that makes it refreshingly hot. The scene is first and foremost about Sky and Bloom’s emotional connection. Anything physical has been left to the imagination, which is honestly more titillating in a way.

Of course, there’s an extra layer to this scene because the actors date in real life. Abigail Cowen confirmed she was dating her Fate: The Winx Saga co-star Danny Griffin with an Instagram post last October and by all accounts they seem to be still going strong! So if you’re a fan of Cowen or Griffin (or just Hollywood gossip), Fate: The Winx Saga Season 2 Episode 2 “Taken By the Wind” is delivering the goods. Sky and Bloom’s storyline is steamy, dreamy, and full of fairy tale fantasy. It’s the exact thing you want out of a show like Fate: The Winx Saga.
