Welcome to the OC, Selling Sunset fans. The real estate reality TV show that dropped on Netflix in 2019 was so successful it inspired another spinoff: Selling The OC. The fresh series, which premieres on August 24, gives viewers a look a new luxury homes, new villains, and even a new spouse of a famous actor.

Fans of Selling Sunset will recall that Season 1 kicked off by welcoming Chrishell Stause (formerly Hartley), the ex-wife of This Is Us star Justin Hartley, to The Oppenheim Group. Over the course of the series, viewers got small glimpses into the couple’s relationship, along with a look at their emotional, very public divorce in Season 3. Selling The OC follows a fresh group of realtors at the brokerage’s newly opened Orange County office, including realtor and former professional surfer Tyler Stanaland, whose (soon-to-be ex) wife is actor Brittany Snow.

On Selling The OC, Tyler works alongside realtors Alex Hall, Alexandra Jarvis, Alexandra Rose, Austin Victoria, Brandi Marshall, Gio Helou, Kayla Cardona, Lauren Brito, Polly Brindle, and Sean Palmieri. Much like Selling Sunset, the spinoff series shows The O Group employees in and out of the office, selling homes during work hours and bonding off the clock. We see relationships form, drama unfold, and of course, tours of seriously gorgeous houses. Though Stanaland isn’t one of the Orange County office’s more vocal realtors, he does find himself at the center of some of the season’s biggest drama. And again, he’s married to Brittany Snow. So we obviously need to know more.

Who exactly is Tyler Stanaland? And is Pitch Perfect star Brittany Snow on Selling The OC? We’ve got all the answers. But be warned, spoilers for Selling The OC‘s first ten episodes lie ahead.

Who is Brittany Snow’s Husband Tyler Stanaland on Selling The OC?

In Season 1, Stanaland — the 33-year-old making waves on Selling The OC — revealed four loves in his life: surfing, his dog, his wife, and real estate — in that order. (Yes, he ranked them on the show knowing Brittany Snow could be watching.) As Stanaland’s Oppenheim Group bio states, he’s a fifth-generation realtor who got his sales license at age 18 and grew up working for his family’s brokerage. He recently felt like it was time to step out on his own, so he joined the Oppenheim brothers in their budding Orange County office. He can be seen selling the first house since leaving his dad’s business in Season 1, which is a huge moment for him.

As noted, Stanaland’s first love is surfing. He grew up in Laguna Beach and pursued a professional surfing career for years. Stanaland experienced a life-threatening health scare in 2012, but he recovered and still makes time to catch some waves whenever he can. You’ll see some shredding a little on Selling The OC, but you can check out Stanaland’s Instagram account, which currently has 69,000 followers, to see more surfing skills.

After meeting on social media, Stanaland and Snow started dating in 2018 and married in March 2020, days before the pandemic sent America into lockdown. “We had a bunch of friends in common, and he actually reached out to me on Instagram with a really lame pickup line,” Snow told People. Though Snow doesn’t appear on Season 1 of Selling The OC, she’s referenced several times on the show by Stanaland and others after some Tyler-related drama unfolds.

Unlike Selling Sunset, Selling The OC features a co-ed real estate team. Stanaland is one of several married men in the office, and though he’s one of the more reserved realtors on the show, the spotlight falls on him after his colleague Kayla Cardona tries to kiss him during a wild night out. The situation escalates when Cardona and Stanaland’s colleague Polly Brindle, whose ex-husband cheated on her, learns of Cardona’s inappropriate behavior, and eventually everyone in the office is getting involved. Stanaland sets clear boundaries and explains that he discussed the incident with his wife and is happily married. Cardona apologizes to the office and Stanaland, and the two clear the air. But when Alexandra Jarvis and Alexandra Rose learn about the situation they call Stanaland’s relationships with other women in the office into question, which outrages him. The Season ends with the surfer calling Jarvis and Rose bullies for trying to start more drama.

Less than a month after the reality show came out, Snow and Stanaland announced they were separating, and Snow filed for divorce (citing irreconcilable differences) four months later. Yikes!

Stanaland’s ex Brittany Snow is a 36-year-old actor and singer whose been racking up credits on her IMDb page since 1994. One of Snow’s first major roles was on the CBS soap opera Guiding Light, but she’s best known for playing Chloe Beale in Pitch Perfect, Kate Spencer in John Tucker Must Die, Amber Von Tussle in Hairspray, and Donna Keppel in Prom Night. Is Brittany Snow On Selling The OC?

As noted, Snow is only referenced and does not physically appear in Season 1 of Selling The OC. In an interview with ET, Stanaland explained ahead of Season 1 that though his then wife would be watching the series, she had no plans to make an appearance. “You will not see her on the show. But she’s supportive,” he said. “I have what makes the most sense in my career, and she has what makes the most sense in her career, and kind of whatever is best, we do, and we support, and I think that’s what makes our relationship successful.”

Now that the two are divorcing, I think it’s safe to say we definitely won’t see Snow on Selling The OC. But Stanaland will be back for Season 2, which premieres on Netflix September 8.
