Fans Threaten Boycott If ‘The View’ Hires “Trump Traitor Trash” Alyssa Farah Griffin

The search for Meghan McCain’s replacement on The View has officially come to an end as the show’s Twitter handle revealed the highly-anticipated announcement will come during a taping later this week — and the drama is already beginning to unfold. Following rumors that the new co-host will be Alyssa Farah Griffin, many fans are calling to boycott The View if the conservative commentator is officially selected to fill the empty chair.

Griffin, who previously worked as the White House Director of Strategic Communications under the Trump administration, has guest-hosted many times and was reported by several outlets last month to be taking over McCain’s spot. Despite The View telling Decider on July 26, “We do not have a co-host announcement to make at this time. Stay tuned,” fans of the show have taken to Twitter to voice their outrage over the alleged hiring.

“Birther @Alyssafarah will be the new co-host,” one user wrote. “@abcnews thinks it will give them higher ratings. They miscalculated. Time to show execs they crossed a line when they signed a Trump propagandist. Nobody who cares about democracy wants to see her sorry mug. #BoycottTheView.”

Another person fumed, “I’ll #BoycottTheView permanently if they hire #TrumpTraitorTrash.”

“If Alyssa is announced then it’s time to #BoycottTheView and let ratings drop so she gets fired sooner,” a third posted, while another person said, “NO. Alyssa Farah Griffin, REALLY? They tried to overturn our election.”

“If the new co-host of #TheView had anything to do with the Trump administration! I’m just gonna stop watching… Not kidding!!! #boycotttheview #changethechannel #NeverAgain #NeverForget #NeverForgive,” someone else announced.

One other user wrote, “The one nice thing about Alyssa Farah Griffin being named a permanent co-host on @TheView is that I will now have an extra 200 hours a year. What could you accomplish with another 200 hours a year? #BoycottTheView #TheView.”

The official announcement will be aired on Thursday, Aug. 4 at 11/10c on ABC.
