Who run the world? Girls! This new reality series really takes Beyoncé’s words to a whole new level: the name, after all, is Girls Planet 999. The South Korean competition show debuted this year and promises to introduce the world’s next big K-pop girl group. Could we really be on our way to finding the next BLACKPINK or ITZY?
The aim of the new game show is to find the next big nine-member K-pop girl group consisting of trainees and idols. Over 13,000 women applied for the series, with 99 being selected for the show itself. These 99 were then split into three separate groups — they’re now competing to be part of the final nine. The series has already debuted around half of its episodes, so we recommend you start watching ASAP!
