‘Kevin Can F**k Himself’ Renewed for Season 2 on AMC

Kevin Can F**k Himself is coming back for more twisted sitcom fun on AMC. The network announced today that the buzzy Annie Murphy dark comedy would return for a second season from creator and executive producer Valerie Armstrong, with eight more episodes on the way to AMC+ and AMC sometime within the next year.

Season 1 of the hit comedy starred the Schitt’s Creek actress in a bit of a role reversal: instead of playing a sitcom character, Murphy played a woman looking to escape the laughter. Tired of always being the butt of the joke to her schlubby husband Kevin (Eric Petersen), Allison revolted and decided it was time he faced hell for his actions. Kevin Can F**k Himself used several camera set-ups to create the sitcom world, pivoting between multi-camera and single camera to show Allison’s transformation out of being the typical Sitcom Wife.

“It’s Kevin’s world, Allison’s just living in it. Or is she?” said Dan McDermott, president of original programming for AMC Networks and AMC Studios, in a statement provided to Decider. “This series was built on a novel and unique concept, and the creative team on both sides of the camera, led by Valerie and Annie, delivered a highly entertaining first season that really got people talking and rooting for the sitcom wife as never before. We are excited to see this talented team move from the finale’s cliffhanger and continue Allison’s journey, pushing the bounds of conventional storytelling every step of the way.”

The first season was AMC’s most watched series on their streamer, AMC+, during its eight-episode run on the platform. According to the network, Armstrong’s series was also the biggest new series launch in the history of the service.

“We’re so grateful to AMC for giving a home to our weird little show,” said Armstrong. “Creating the first season of Kevin Can F**K Himself and getting to tell this story has been the joy of my life. We couldn’t be more thrilled to be stuck in Worcester with Allison for another year.”

Along with Murphy and Petersen, Kevin Can F**k Himself also stars Mary Hollis Inboden, Alex Bonifer, Brian Howe, and Raymond Lee.
