Get ready to return to Eternia — Netflix has released the first trailer for Kevin Smith‘s reboot of He-Man and the Masters of the UniverseMasters of the Universe: Revelation is set to release Part 1 on the streamer on July 23 with the first six episodes of Season 1. The series follows a continuation of the 1983 original cartoon, helmed by Chris Wood and Mark Hamill voicing He-Man and Skeletor, respectively.

Set to the classic “Holding Out for a Hero” by Bonny Tyler, the teaser sees Skeletor attempting to storm the castle — unsuccessful as ever. Of course, He-Man exclaims his “I have the power!” line, and we get our first look at the new-and-improved Netflix version of the iconic character. The rest of the trailer is a montage of epic fight scenes, sweet moves from the characters, and a battle between He-Man and Skeletor.

The new series is set to pick up where the legacy ’80s series left off, trekking back into the same mythology and cast of characters in their many unresolved storylines. Following a fight between He-Man and Skeletor — possibly the one we see in the trailer — Eternia faces major damages. The Guardians of Grayskull face huge changes and nearly dissolve as the fate of the land falls upon these trusty heroes. Can the save everything, or will they be forced to face the end of the universe?

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe aired for two seasons from 1983 to 1985, featuring the ever-familiar He-Man and Skeletor. The show followed Prince Adam (who becomes He-Man) in a quest to save Eternia from evil forces, and was based on Mattel’s toy line Masters of the Universe. He-Man and the Masters of the Universe spawned a 1987 animated film.

Marc Bernardin, Eric Carrasco, Diya Mishra, and Tim Sheridan serve as writers on Smith’s animation project. Hamill, Wood, Lena Headey, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and a handful of other major names are set to voice characters in the series.
