‘Bridgerton’ Stars Unite For A Free Rebroadcast of Decider’s 92Y Talk

Bridgerton was the one Netflix show we couldn’t get enough of during this year’s holiday season, and thankfully, more is on the way! But if you can’t wait for Season 2 to land on Netflix, Decider has a way for you to get more Bridgerton right now. Tonight the 92Y will be rebroadcasting Decider’s virtual 92Y Talk with the stars of Bridgerton for free! Decider’s own Meghan O’Keefe joins Bridgerton stars Phoebe Dynevor (Daphne Bridgerton), Nicola Coughlan(Penelope Featherington), Adjoa Andoh (Lady Danbury), and Claudia Jessie (Eloise Bridgerton) in a spoiler-filled chat about Bridgerton’s sex scenes, gender politics, and their own hopes for Season 2.

Based on the best-selling romance novels by Julia Quinn, Bridgerton Season 1 follows young debutante Daphne Bridgerton as she forges a fake romance with the handsome Simon Bassett, Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page). Daphne wants to appear desirable to a legion of suitors driven away by her over-bearing brother Anthony (Jonathan Bailey), while the Duke wants to appear totally unavailable. The main audience for their charade? A mysterious gossip columnist named Lady Whistledown (voiced by Julie Andrews), whose biting society pages shape the ton’s attitudes towards each and every one of its wealthy members. However, Daphne and Simon soon find that their little romance might not be as fake as they themselves want it to be…

However Bridgerton is more than a steamy love story. It’s also a hilarious soap opera, rebellious period drama, and feminist look at Regency life. Each of the women in Bridgerton is bristling against the rules of their constricting society and fighting back in unique ways. Decider spoke to the show’s stars about their characters’ unique battles and what they hope to see their characters get up to in Bridgerton Season 2.

Visit the 92Y’s official website to tune into tonight’s virtual Bridgerton panel, going live at 7 PM ET (4 PM PT) tonight, Friday, January 22, 2021. (Please note this a rebroadcast of an earlier event.)
