Happy Friday, everyone! While these first two weeks of 2021 have already felt like a decade, there is a lot to look forward to in the coming weeks and months…especially when it comes to the COVID-19 vaccine! But while we all wait to get jabbed in the arm —or recover from the jabbing if you have been vaccinated already— we still have to be cautious and stay indoors. Luckily our favorite streaming platforms are still here to keep us company as we count down the days to inoculation freedom. Whether you’re sifting through options on Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, or all of the above, starting with the freshest titles is always a strategic move. And if you want our two cents, here’s our recommendations on what to watch this weekend and where to stream it.

New on Disney+ January 15: WandaVision

AHHHH IT’S HERE!! THEY’RE BACK!! We’ve been waiting for what seems like forever, but WandaVision, Marvel’s first-ever TV show, has finally arrived on Disney+ this weekend. Elizabeth Olson and Paul Bettany reprise their roles as Scarlett Witch and Vision as they live out their forever-afters in this quintessential TV comedies. Cheesy asides? You’ve got it. Intrusive supporting characters — Kathryn Hahn is in her finest? You’ve got it. The miniseries runs full gambit of classic sitcom tropes, including cheesy asides, laugh tracks and that one intrusive supporting character — Kathryn Hahn is in her finest. New on Prime Video January 15: One Night in Miami…

What if the biggest players of the 1960s Black world met one another and hung out for just one evening? That would be one of the most epic crossovers in history! That fantasy becomes a reality in One Night in Miami… the American drama film new on Amazon Prime Video this weekend. Based on Kemp Powers’ (Soul) play of the same name, the movie recounts a fictionalized meeting of Malcolm X, Muhammad Ali, Jim Brown, and Sam Cooke in a Miami hotel room in February 1964, celebrating Ali’s historic surprise title win over Sonny Liston. With Regina King at the directorial helm and an all-star cast featuring Kingsley Ben-Adir, Eli Goree, Aldis Hodge and Leslie Odom Jr., One Night in Miami… is expected to be an Oscar-worthy hit.

New on Netflix January 15: Disenchantment- Part 3

Our favorite satirical animated comedy is back in Matt Groening’s  Disenchantment Part 3. The third installation of the Netflix-original series picks back up with Princess Bean (Abbi Jacobson) and her demon Luci (Eric Andre) trapped in a strange world underground. While she struggles to find a way out, King Zøg (John DiMaggio) finds himself in his own sticky situation, and his growing instability raises even more concerns over who will rule Dreamland. As one of the best new shows this month, Disenchantment Part 3 is sure to bring the self-referential humor we have all missed in the show’s absence.
