The Ninth ‘American Pie’ Movie Has Quietly Landed on Netflix

Two decades after the movie that started it all, American Pie is still churning out spinoffs. And the latest, a girls-only take on the original 1999 hit, has quietly made its way to NetflixAmerican Pie Presents: Girls’ Rules, a comedy starring Madison Pettis, Lizze Broadway, Natasha Behnam and Piper Curda, is now available to watch on the streaming platform.

Girls’ Rules comes to Netflix not long after it was first released on DVD and digital this summer. The film follows a crew of high school seniors, Annie (Pettis), Kayla (Curda), Michelle (Behnam) and Stephanie (Broadway), as they head into their final year at East Great Falls. The girls are on a mission to get way they want and make their last year together the best one yet. “The boys won’t know what hit them when these sassy sweethearts are calling the shots,” the film’s official description reads. “Wild parties, sexy adventures and a Stifler bring the heat in this hot new slice of American Pie!”

Of course, no successful plan is complete without a few guidelines in place. So, the girls outline their official rules for senior year in the film’s trailer, which include “fix our romantic lives,” “support our fellow women,” and the third and final, “we won’t let each other get away with our usual shit.” So begins their year of girls’ nights, hookups and parties to remember. American Pie Presents: Girls’ Rules also stars Darren Barnet, Zachary Gordon, Zayne Emory, Ed Quinn, Sara Rue and Barry Bostwick.

The newest take on American Pie marks the ninth American Pie film and the fifth installment in the American Pie Presents series, which began in 2005 with American Pie Presents: Band CampWhile three more American Pie Presents films — all featuring Eugene Levy‘s Noah Levenstein character — were released not long after Band Camp, Girls’ Rules marks the first one since 2009’s American Pie Presents: The Book of Love
