‘Southern Charm’ Season 7: What We Know About the New Season

Southern Charm fans have been waiting for Season 7 for a while now, ever since Season 6 wrapped up on Bravo nearly a year ago. Unfortunately, last year’s filming delays and this year’s coronavirus pandemic have slowed down the production process, meaning a new season of Southern Charm won’t be ready to watch this summer, unlike past years.

Bravo had to adjust the production schedule this year for Southern Charm, which normally films new seasons in the fall. For Season 7, the show was delayed even before the coronavirus pandemic. Southern Charm star Shep Rose revealed on the Ross Bolen Podcast that the cast was still waiting to begin filming in October 2019, saying, “I don’t know if we are going to do another season. But we’re not doing one now.”

The good news is, Bravo is officially making Season 7 of the reality series, but it’s going to arrive with some big changes. Here’s everything we know about Southern Charm Season 7.

WHEN WAS SOUTHERN CHARM SEASON 7 FILMED?

Production officially began in February this year, but was postponed again due to the pandemic. “It’s a bummer with this unprecedented situation but it really felt like we got back to our roots,” Southern Charm‘s Craig Conover told Decider in April. “It’s very organic and transparent. [After] having such a long break, everyone kinda came in full steam ahead, so it was pretty wild and a lot of drama. Everyone basically kept what was going on in their lives and the cameras showed up and started to catch all the drama that happens in our everyday life.”

The show is still shooting now in Charleston, South Carolina, and the cast has been spotted out and about despite the coronavirus pandemic.

WHO IS NOT RETURNING TO SOUTHERN CHARM SEASON 7?

There are plenty of cast changes in the upcoming season. Eliza Limehouse was the latest Southern Charm star to leave ahead of Season 7, confirming to People this month that she’s out after one season on the show. Multiple cast members left earlier this year, including Cameran Eubanks, Naomie Olindo and Chelsea Meissner.

WHO IS IN THE SEASON 7 SOUTHERN CHARM CAST?

So if four cast members left the show, who is set to return for Season 7? We know that there’s at least one new cast member, Cameran and Naomie’s friend Leva Bonaparte. “Kathryn [Dennis] stayed and as far as I know, they’re still filming and they have a couple new girls,” she said on The Skinny Confidential podcast. “My friend Leva, I mean I love Leva, I think she’s great.”

Austen Kroll, Shep and Craig are all set to return, along with Kathryn, Danni Baird, and Madison LeCroy. We might be seeing another new face this season, too. Shep recently made his relationship with girlfriend Taylor Ann Green Instagram official, so she could be showing up in Season 7. Plus, we know fan favorite Patricia Altschul will be returning as she shared a behind-the-scenes pic on Instagram this week while she filmed the show in her famous home.

WHEN DOES SOUTHERN CHARM RETURN?

While Bravo hasn’t revealed an exact return date for Season 7 of Southern Charm, we expect that it will return later this year. Although the series typically airs in the late spring and goes well into the summer, we know that the show will be significantly delayed for Season 7. But stay tuned, because whenever we do get any news about the Charleston crew’s official return date, we’ll be sure to let you know.
