Tom Holland Faces Down Robert Pattinson in Netflix’s ‘The Devil All The Time’ Trailer: Watch

Netflix just gave us a first look at its latest highly anticipated thriller, The Devil All The TimeThe chilling official trailer for the Antonio Campos film was released today, just weeks before the movie drops on Netflix in September.

The Devil All The Time spans across decades, from the 1940’s to the Vietnam War. The film follows Arvin Russell (Tom Holland), a young man in Knockemstiff, Ohio, who is growing up in a post-WWII America. Arvin meets plenty of sinister characters along the way, including corrupt preacher Preston Teagardin (Robert Pattinson), who Arvin says “ain’t no preacher,” adding, “he’s as bad as they got on the damn radio.”

Today’s trailer shows us a glimpse into the world of the gothic midwest, opening with Arvin’s birthday, where he receives “the best present” he’s ever gotten: his dad’s gun. After he blows out his birthday candles, it only gets darker from there. Jumping from the 40s to the 60s, the first glimpse at The Devil All The Time teases the corrupt characters and their twisted lives, giving just enough backstory for each to hook us.

Last week, Netflix released the official poster for the film, which teased the star-studded cast. Along with Holland and Pattinson, The Devil All The Time boasts plenty of big name actors. Riley Keough and Jason Clarke star as couple Sandy and Carl Henderson and Sebastian Stan plays a crooked sheriff named Lee Bodecker. The cast also includes Bill Skarsgård, Mia Wasikowska, Harry Melling, Haley Bennett, and musician Pokey Lafarge.

The Devil All The Time was adapted from Donald Ray Pollack’s 2011 novel of the same name. The Netflix film version comes from Antonio Campos and his brother, Paulo Campos, and Jake Gyllenhaal, who previously worked with Netflix on his 2019 horror film Velvet Buzzsaw
