This summer is undoubtedly a weird one, but at least The Kissing Booth 2 came out today. Even if we can’t go to the beach, at least we can still enjoy a summer of love on Netflix. The sequel to Netflix’s popular teen rom-com arrived on Friday and bought with it everyone’s favorite teen rom-com trope: the love triangle. That’s right: Jacob Elordi is not the only one that Joey King has eyes for in The Kissing Booth 2.

There’s a new boy in school named Marco that everyone is buzzing about who’s supposedly very hot. Elle (King) thinks so, too—very loudly and emphatically while she’s accidentally speaking into the PA system, for the entire school to hear. Thankfully, Marco is a good sport about it. He even agrees to help Elle win a Dance Dance Revolution dance competition. But wait… could Elle be falling for Marco? She did say she wanted to bite his butt, and he does play the guitar. But what about Noah?! Honestly, I’m Team Marco—he’s a way better catch than the dude who’s constantly getting into fights and telling guys not to talk to Elle, aka Noah.

Who plays Marco in The Kissing Booth 2?

Marco is played by Taylor Zakhar Perez. Perez is a relatively new face, both to The Kissing Booth cast and to the acting scene in general. However, there are a few things you may know Perez from.

Who is Taylor Zakhar Perez?

The Kissing Booth 2 is Perez’s first major film role, but you may also recognize him from guest appearances on shows like Scandal, Awkward, Young & Hungry, and more. He also played Noah Torres on the go90 streaming series Embeds, which had one 6-episode season in 2017.

Perez is originally from the South Side of Chicago and began performing in musical theater at an early age. He’s also a former swimmer, which explains all those impressive muscles.
