Who Is The New Second Stew on ‘Below Deck Mediterranean’?

UPDATE: We now know who the new/returning second stew is!

We all let out a big exhale of relief when Lara Flumiani quit her position on Below Deck Mediterranean. But we should be following that up with a sharp inhale at the realization that, well, someone new will have to replace her? So who will the new second stew on Below Deck Med actually be?

Well, we’ve got a few clues to work with. First, we see Captain Sandy make a phone call to the crew staffing agent, telling them, “I’m in a jam and I need a second stew,” and asking them to text or email their resumes over to her asap. The wheels are already in motion, which is good considering chief stew Hannah and third stew Jessica are having to pick up the slack for this charter which features musicians Roy Orbison Jr (and his two adorable kids, including Roy Orbison III!) and Ulf Ekberg from Ace of Base. Do you think… he saw the sign of who might be joining the boat? lol jk.

So in the preview for the next episode, Captain Sandy is seen telling the crew, “We’ve been working to get a strong second stew. It just so happens, someone that you’ve worked with before is available,” she says, looking at Hannah.

“Hannah you don’t look happy,” is heard and plainly see on her face.

So who could it be? Well, if she’s worked with them on the show before, then we’ve got eight options, two each from the show’s four previous seasons. Should we go ahead and rule out Anastasia Surmava and Aesha Scott from Season 4, the two Hannah got along with best? If it were one of them she would surely have a big smile on her face, right? Well, this is Below Deck Med, and it would be silly to rule anyone out.

Season 3 gave us Brooke Laughton and Kasey Cohen who had their typical gripes about the amount of work their chief stew was handing them, so they are surely contenders. Season 2 featured Bugsy Drake and Lauren Cohen, and that year even prompted Chef Adam to suggest, “Maybe Bugsy should be chief stew,” which made both Hannah and Bugsy feel awkward, so there’s that. And Season 1 gave us Julia d’Albert Pusey and Tiffany Copeland, so bringing either of them back would be a real blast from the past.

Tune in to next week’s episode to find out which lucky stew will jump into the drama of Motor Yacht Wellington!
